Erica Whorton, CPNP-PC

I am a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I grew up on a cattle farm in central Missouri where all of my family still lives today. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Drury University in 2012 where I also played on the women’s basketball team. I then attended William Jewell University and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2016. I started my nursing career in the Emergency Department, but once I became a Mom, I knew I wanted to work in pediatrics. Being a parent is the greatest blessing of my life and has also shaped my career in pediatrics.

I joined the Shawnee Mission Pediatrics team as a nurse in 2017 and have never looked back. I completed my Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Pediatric Primary Care in 2021 and transitioned to my new role as a Nurse Practitioner. I am so excited and blessed to continue my work here at Shawnee Mission Pediatrics!

My husband and I are the proud parents of two girls who constantly keep us on our toes, but keep our life filled with an abundance of joy and laughter. In our free time, we enjoy riding bikes, camping, boating, and enjoying the outdoors.
